We are always on the look out and test new apps or sites that are out in the market that could make your life a little easier. We are on the go constantly, and we do a lot of reading on the go as well. As far as we are concerned, for your news/RSS feeds there is no better app than gReader Pro, but the downside is if you want to access all the features, you have to pay for it. We did since it is THAT good. But what if you don't want to pay? What if you come across something interesting online that you want to read later? What if that page doesn't have any Share functionality that will tag or bookmark it so that you can read it whenever, wherever, and on any platform? That's where Pocket comes in.
In the interest of full disclosure, this app sort of fell on our laps. We do a lot of searches for apps and test out a few before deciding to write about them, but this one just popped up on our Google Play homepage and piqued our curiosity. We checked it out and figured it warranted a write-up since it is simple to use, has a nice smooth interface and is as cross platform as it gets.
Formerly known as Read It Later, Pocket is a simple app available for iOS, Android, WebOS, S60, Windows Mobile and Blackberry, and is accessible via any browser as well. All you have to do if you see something you want to read later (anything that is online - articles, videos, tweets etc.) is share it using the option Add to Pocket. That's it. It becomes accessible from anywhere from that point on. It is handy in case you don't have your mobile device with you or the machine you end up using doesn't have features like Firefox's sync capability. You can just login to Pocket and it is all there. Oh and you can save via email as well (not sure how many people actually use this feature but it's there). It doesn't get simpler than that. And it's free.
Try out Pocket. Let us know what you think.
