The French Formula 1 Grand Prix is back!

After a 5 year hiatus, the French Formula 1 Grand Prix will be included in the calendar beginning in 2013... with a slight change. The updated event will be held at the Circuit Paul Ricard replacing Magny Cours as the event location. The last time the race was held at Paul Ricard was way back in 1990. This is a fantastically designed track and will see the likes of the echelon of automotive racing in Formula 1 in addition to playing host to a slew of events from superbikes to the Le Mans series. It is also a preferred testing facility for many of the top automotive manufacturers in addition to the  Nürburgring. It will be interesting to see if the French Grand Prix will be addition to the already loaded 20 race calendar or if it will replace one of the  current venues. Exciting times ahead!

Update: Owing to the change in the French government, it looks like the decision to host the French Formula 1 Grand Prix has been reversed. Stay tuned for updates.
