Windows Keyboard Shortcuts


Are you one of those users that prefer to keep both your hands on the keyboard instead of one on the keyboard and the other on the mouse while working? We have listed a few keyboard shortcuts that will make your life a little easier while using the Windows operating system.

General
  1. Ctrl + A (Select all)
  2. Ctrl + C (Copy)
  3. Ctrl + V (Paste)
  4. Ctrl + X (Cut)
  5. Ctrl + Z (Undo)
  6. Ctrl + Right Arrow (Move to start of next word)
  7. Ctrl + Left Arrow (Move to start of previous word)
  8. Ctrl + Down Arrow (Move to start of next paragraph)
  9. Ctrl + Up Arrow (Move to start of previous paragraph)
  10. Ctrl + Shift + Arrow keys (Highlight a block of text)
  11. Ctrl + ESC (Display Start menu)
  12. Ctrl + Tab (Cycle through tabs - Forward)
  13. Ctrl + Shift + Tab (Cycle through tabs - Backward)
  14. Shift + Arrow keys (Select more than one item in a window or on the desktop, or select text in a document)
  15. Shift + Delete (Delete selected item permanently without placing item in Recycle Bin)
  16. Shift + F10 (Display shortcut menu for selected item)
  17. Alt + Enter (View properties for selected item)
  18. Alt + Spacebar (Open shortcut menu for active window)
  19. Alt + Tab (Switch between open programs)
  20. Alt + ESC (Cycle through programs in the order they were opened)
  21. Alt + F4 (Close/Quit active item/program)
  22. Backspace (Go up one folder level in My Computer or Windows Explorer)
Function Keys
  1. F1 (Help Topics)
  2. F2 (Rename selected item)
  3. F3 (Search for a file or a folder)
  4. F4 (Display Address bar list in My Computer or Windows Explorer)
  5. F5 (Refresh)
  6. F6 (Cycle through screen elements in a window or on the desktop)
  7. F10 (Activate menu bar of active program)
Browser Navigation (Firefox, IE, Chrome)
  1. Ctrl + B (Organize Favorites)
  2. Ctrl + E (Search)
  3. Ctrl + F (Find Text)
  4. Ctrl + H (Open History)
